Night Manor tips
Basic tips
First things first, "dying" in this game doesn't really matter. There is a slightly different ending you can get if you never die, but you can still collect the cherry and gold disks even if you die. Sometimes, it might even be quicker to die rather than hide.
If you're aiming to avoid death for the best ending, I recommend running around wildly to escape the killer. You will either find a hiding spot or eventually lose the killer.
Secondly, be aware of the large outdoor area beyond the pool. It's easy to miss, so keep exploring! It’s an important area, so don't overlook it.
Third, make sure to use the "look" action to inspect objects with the eyes icon. You might miss hidden clues or unexpected findings.
Lastly, each key in the game only opens the lock of the same material. If the lock is gold, don’t waste time trying a silver key.
Spoilers for specific puzzles
At some point, you will pick up a doll. Despite having multiple options to open the doll, you must use the knife. This can be easily missed, so make sure to use the right tool.
You may encounter instructions or codes that go into your inventory for later use. (Here's how to find the computer password.)
The computer password is hidden in the dollhouse. Use the magnifying glass to inspect the dollhouse and retrieve the password. It's easy to overlook if you don't inspect the dollhouse before trying to take it.
You'll also find instructions for the maze, which you need to unlock the gate using a few gems.
These instructions are on the wall in the children's playroom. Make sure to get them into your inventory instead of trying to memorize them. Refer to the first tip of this section if you need help retrieving them!
There's a mummy you'll encounter early in the game.
Despite having multiple options to cut off its finger, you must use a specific item, likely obtained later in the game. It won't work with a few other items, so keep searching. There's no simpler angle; the correct item is key, so keep looking around.
Lastly, there’s a fuse box in the basement.
It’s a red herring, don’t stress over it. The actual solution is closer than you might expect.
